I actually opened it a week ago but didn't announce it anywhere. Strangely enough, I already sold (and sent!) 3 items, 4 more are being discussed with a customer and some people even 'heart' my shop and items o_O;
Soon I'm going to advertise it on communities :3

Oh, one thing: please, please tell me what you think about the prices. I really had a problem choosing them. On one hand I'm just selling small pieces of plastic but on the other, they are unique artistic compositions. Hmm. I based the prices on how much I'm satisfied with a given item, basically. But I think they are too modest XD

Steamborgs!

By that I mean Steampunk'd cameos.

The frame is awesome here because it's just pearly beads in resin. The background of the cameo is half-transparent. Unlike the majority, it's not covered with clear resin so one has to be careful not to damage the monocle and such (though it's quite solid). Not for sale :P

This is actually the first Steamborg cameo I've made. The skeleton hand... I used to have a plastic skeleton model when I was a child. I've lost many of its bones though. I made molds from the ones that remained ^^. The whole thing is enameled so it's super smooth and shiny~ Not for sale :P

Too bad it will never be visible on photos - the cameo itself is half transparent metallic. Metallic (brass) paint + clear resin + a few days of waiting = metal particles go to the bottom of the mold = the top of the cameo. It's a wonderful effect. I put some watch parts into the cameo and then carved the 'body' out to show them. The hair has some tiny bits of additional golden paint. The background is simple and black. It's also not covered with resin. Not for sale :P

Ahhh yesss the creation I'm most proud of. The process of making it was much, much complicated than the other ones. And I don't mean putting the watch parts on the skull because it was a piece of cake. The background, the backgrooouund!! I took so many photos because it's impossible to show it in one. The closer to the background it is, the darker the resin. Most definitely not for sale :P

The rest I don't care so much about so I'm going to sell them. If nobody buys them, I'll happily wear them anyway:

It's not a full cameo - it's just a thin layer of it. With some mechanisms. Then I put it it classically into clear resin and then added a print out of an old letter as a background. The frame is awesome because it's completely clear but patined with black, silver and brass paints.

The rose is in clear resin and though it doesn't look like it, it's completely smooth.

Another Steamborg skull cameo. In a coffin (am I predictable or what XD). I gave this one a long neck though - by adding a copy of it @_@

*sigh* I really am fond of that cameo. I like the greenness of the color though! It's like moss and fern *_*. The skull has a rhinestone in its eye socket o_O; Beads in the frame again - but this time they're metal beads.

Not sure if it's a Steamborg but I like the mechanism in the background. For the frame I used a piece of the chain that forms the necklace. It's made of silver, oooh. The mask is modeled after a tiny 'porcelain' doll.

Just a mechanism. It's got rust and rhinestones, yay! And lots of screws.

Again, the photos don't show everything well. The rose is metallic golden and the cogs and brass wire are more visible. It's in clear resin but the background + frame are black.

Colorful resin!

Results of my experiments with pigments. I bought blue, red and yellow pigment powders. It's funny how completely different they behave. Blue is the best, no problems with it. Re dissolves slowly as hell - that's why there is some red dust in my beginnings. I have found a method for red now though. Yellow wasn't transparent at all ;_; So I bought a different, liquid pigment and it's 3/4 transparent.

Also, new coffin mold. Even smaller than the last one, haha:

Let's have a rainbow of colors! Starting from yellow, then orange, red, garnet, lilac, blue(!), emerald and green. But don't worry, I haven't gone all colorful and happy - there are mostly skulls and coffins, fortunately.

The 'good' yellow pigment. The brightness of the color blinds me though >_<

Same. But with a koi carp inside! I love carps, they're fascinating. The ones I feed in the park are hueg! Like monsters, really. And they have such cute mouths. It's also awesome when you're standing on a bridge, prepared to throw some bread and a carp sees you with its cute eyes and swims up to you. Ahhhh I'd love to pet them ;^;

...anyway, this is a pin. I put a nail into the coffin (<- haha) and bought this pin-catching clasp thingy. It's a good solution for tiny brooches.

A bit of peach. The lace was originally two pieces cut out from a wider lace and sewn together with a synthetic hair (100 times thinner than a thread). I've got too much time, apparently.

It's my watermark logo! I pinned this to my favorite jacket's lapel. It's transparent red BUT it has a bottom layer of nontransparent polyurethane red resin. Very interesting combination and result - of course it's not visible on the photo ._.;

I bought this silver charm such a long time ago that I didn't even know what the kanji meant then. I never wore it so I decided to put LOVE INTO A COFFIN. Because everything looks cooler in a coffin.

General Steampunk resin

Everything containing cogs/watch parts which does not fall into 'pigments' and 'Steamborgs' categories. Those shall be covered soon. My Steamborgs will rule, btw ^^

That one's quite old. I like that kind of cog compositions so I'll be using it more.

This one has an additional brooch clasp at the back so it's 2 functional! And it has a small rose leaf.

Tiny! It's my new coffin mold. I'm happy with how even and symmetrical it came out. It has a ghostly skull print *_*

The usual kind of mess. Those little stars are for nail decoration. I didn't like the result of this experiment because they are much lighter than resin and they kept swimming up ._.;

Framed, baby! I bought a superthin brass plate, cut a piece and glued it on. Not the most professional solution but it's solid and looks ok.

This doesn't have any cogs but has brass beads and is quite Steampunky in my opinion nonetheless. Yay for dragonfly wings! Dragonflies are cool. Also, I love the light rays/reflections on the 'back' photo (picture #4).

Ehhh random. The mold is from a back of a small pocket watch I bought in London. It has those relief baroque motives which I'm quite fond of. I don't know the name of the flower I took the petals from (I picked them from the ground because the flower had naturally shed them - I don't pick from 'living' flowers (apart from roses which I buy at flower shops ;_; I'm sorry))

Hehe, a chandelier piece mold! I love this shape so so so much! But it looks best with simple things inside and I put quite a chaos here... The smokeyness and matteness are intentional.
Also, elastic velvet ribbons ftw! I've myself made lots of bracelets, chokers and rings from them ^^

Do you think these are too inspired by SS?
The first one definitely is T_T. Sorry. I'm going to keep it for myself even though it's very blingy.

I'm looking away in shame because my camera sucks. The noise on the pictures always makes me cringe. But I have too many more important expenses recently to buy a proper, professional camera T_T

Oh yeah! Steampunk orb, baby!

This design shall be copied because I'm thinking about the brass 'cage' going all the way - crossing at the bottom too. Those are real tiny nails, btw.

I also made this 'litte' thing:

I have a problem now because I don't know what to decorate it with. It's too big for rhinestones. Maybe black lace? But not the one in the picture below - it has to be something 2-sided. Or maybe a ribbon? I'm still not sure~

Oh and I used these for molds:

A Sephora lipgloss (4 colors!) which I love, a travel toothbrush I bought at an airport but never used and a bath ball thing which is probably past its expiry date. I used to buy those when I was 13 o_O

I'll have to postpone my shop opening for a week or so because apparently I have problems with estimating things - I already finished the resin (750 ml!) I bought 2 weeks ago and which I thought would last for a very long time. Hopefully tomorrow Mr. Postman will bring me a new bottle ^^;;

Transparent Overload

So. If there is something cooler than polyurethane resin it's CLEAR EPOXY RESIN XD~~!
No, seriously. There is nothing above this in coolness. I have dreamed of playing with this ever since I was a child *-* These are only my beginnings. I know which mistakes I won't repeat in the future so it's all getting better and better. And I have invented a million fascinating ways of employing my lovely resin-chans ^^

In all of this I kind of copied some ideas by Suppurate System (they're awesome), namely rose petals and coffin shapes. All the coffins for molds I made myself and the rest I took from various objects (like the cap of my Zara Woman perfume - best scent in the world btw.).

Now you will know what those flower petals I posted before were for XD. I've been collecting them all spring. Apart from taking apart flowers (hehe pun), I've been dabbling in watches. I bought a really huge set of old/broken watches and parts from an ex watchmaker's workshop almost for free (I was really lucky). I have so many of them that they'll last for years ^^. Taking the mechanisms apart is quite nice because I like to admire the intricacy with which they were put together. Tiny mechanisms like that are really beautiful. Sometimes though I get these huge pangs of guilt when a watch I start to unscrew suddenly starts ticking as if it was alive T_T It kills me to kill them and I have to tell myself it's only an inanimate object T____T Nonetheless I unscrew the ticking ones as fast as I can so as not to prolong their suffering. I'm hopeless, I know T_T;

Anyway, one summer day Mr. Postman brought me this wonderful jewelry presenter:

And as it was a sunny day, I decided to devote it to a photoshoot.

So at first I had lots of watch parts and some rose petals. Those were my first results:

They're brooches. I love the idea (it's mine XD) of putting a rhinestone in the center of dials. But there are too many bubbles T_T Bubbles are extremely difficult to get rid of. Practically unavoidable. I have a few ideas how to make bubble-free things but they take a lot of time ^^;
Anyway, in the middle one, those big bubbles aren't air. They're those inedible things you get in nori for sushi (and other foodstuffs). I find them pretty and collect them. Here they finally found a use ^^

They're meant to be a bit steampunk but the real, 100% Astarise style steampunk creations will be shown here in another, special post. They're too cool to be mixed with beginnings X3

Silver watch parts, rose petals, food bubbles and pearls. Natural pearls inside the pendant and two rows of fake ones forming the necklace. I absolutely love it how these transparent things look when they're with sun/sky background *-*

Pink tinted resin! XD I bought a cheap necklace consisting of 5 crowns and this is one of them. I cut off one of its spokes though. Ugh, I didn't know how to handle petals well back then. But generally I like this thing~~

This is one of my favorites *_* That's why I gave it a real pearls necklace. Here I tried to do what Suppurate System does - put a small piece of paper with a signature. The font sucks and normal printing paper sucks. I never used this again ._.

My first attempt ever. I love it. The resin is a bit smokey-colored and I used parts from an old alarm clock (I didn't have those small parts then yet). I think I'll need a new (broken) alarm clock though because those big cogs are quite pretty and useful too.
Anyway, putting the chain through a cog is an idea of 100% win (<-modesty). The chain is gold and I feel so expensive when I wear it XD

Yayyy for cogs with chains~~ This one is only golden though. I don't have anymore chains in this color T_T
Anyway! Here I used some secret techniques to make stainless steel actually stained. This way it looks more brassy and I could be put into this composition. Actually I 'rusted' most of such steel elements because I love this dirty/used look.

This is the said perfume cap mold :3 I put a piece of black resin rose on a dial~ I love the rust on it. And they way it's presented.

The 'mask' is made from a piece of cameo from which I CUT OUT THE EYES ARGHHH XD One of the pointy things from a cog is coming out of one empty eye but it's not visible in the pics. Somehow I don't have the heart for this choker. I'm going to sell it.

Smooth and pretty *_* I'm going to drill a hole in it and give it some nice silver jump ring. And a ribbon necklace *_* And sell it *_* (haha I don't want it~)

I think the pictures speak for themselves.

That's just an example of combining 2 kinds of resin. I have cooler things than that. Like the one below:

Awww yeah. I think that's my #1 favorite of all.

So this is one kind of resin thing. It's got finite possibilities in comparison with the other, additional technique. Every time I somehow get to incorporate a printer into a project, I get overwhelmed by the endlessness of possibilities *____* So I created a file of assorted small images (cliparts and polyvore XD).

It took me a lot of time to assemble it. And to cut it... I have to make 2 or 3 more files like this again soon T-T

Tatsurou! His self portrait. I absolutely love it how he zaps that poor stick figure heta ni na~re~. Wtf?<3 More of Tatsurou's masterpieces shall be put into resin soon :3
Oh, and that reminds me. Actually he has had an idea like this.
Anyway, I will use that combination of frame and beads more ^^

Yes, because everyone 'hearts' 'Astarise' :3 I painted it white from behind so it's not fully transparent. And it's beads, not pearls ^^;;

You could see the shape of the pocket watch this was modeled after in the post about uhh.. non-transparent resin. I inserted a special cog/watchpart in the middle, filling the hole. It's got lots of random small elements and the resin is tinted with metallic brass/copper paint.

Aww yeah, I love octopuses. Octopodes. Octopi. ^^
I painted the back of the printout white, so it looks good on dark surfaces (clothes). The resin is ever so slightly rose tinted. The pearls are fake but very good quality. The jumpring-hanger thingy is silver. The bubbles were accidental but now I quite like them. They make the octopus seem more alive to me.

One of my favorites. It has blooood drops print and lots of metal. METALLL \m/

Paradise apple petals. I love it when those trees blossom. When they were raining petals I picked the pink ones from the ground. Sadly, they are too thin = too transparent. The white/light pink are thus unusable but dark pink can be acceptable.

Same as above. I like this skull print. It kinds of makes whatever's inside the mold look more interesting.

It's hueg! And slightly rose tinted. I got the mold from one metal box. I painted the crown silver from behind and gave it a small rhinestone. There's also a small 'Astarise' which was also painted silver but it's barely visible in the photo.

Yay for angular, diamond-like shape of the oval. This was a round drawing of a gothic rose which I stretched on photoshop. That's all.

Chandelier piece! I actually wear the original as a pendant sometimes. I love its shape. It's black tinted and has a skull profile. It's so dark, ohoho~

MUCC!!!

The black frame is just a frame - it has no back :3. I didn't notice my 'signature' sliding up, it should be lower. It's git quince petals. They're also too thin, despite their beautiful color...

I don't know the name of that violet flower. I found it in the botanical garden when it was losing petals and I picked some from the ground (as you may have noticed - I don't pick petals from 'living' flowers. Roses are an exception because I buy those). Shiny rhinestone *_* I didn't edit the last picture - it's just a very nice angle~

Mhh, not my biggest success. Some white lace and black handprints...

Piece of a cameo. I love this idea and will use it more often.

I used a few layers here so they are nicely mixed. The final layer is of white nontransparent resin. It's a brooch.

I can make millions of bats like this because I have a special bat-shaped punch ^^

All presented on my lovely Mania.
Actually photographing all this was ugh... let's put it this way: Mania is heavy. She doesn't have a stand. To balance her in an upright position I had to use 3-5 strings holding her from various places in my room -_- Of course I photoshopped them out later.

Belt + beads are from a shop :P The rest is 100% Astarise made.

The skirt is from a half circle. I made a mistake in calculations and the waist is too big so it's a kind of hip skirt. I hate that and will probably remove the pretty lace and sew it onto something new...

The fabric is from an old blouse sewn anew.

Here I implemented an innovative, revolutionary, brilliant technique of attaching plastic bones. They're completely invisible yet play their role perfectly. This dress (jumper skirt?) only looks good with a black top. I tried it with white and I felt too sweet lolita ._.

It also has plastic bones but used 'normally'. I'll have to alter the corset part because instead of cinching it gives me 2cm...
I'm in love with the lace here. It was red and I dyed it black - the result was 50/50 awww yeah.

Evil princess.
It's a bit complicated. Umm. There's a transparent skirt, bustle made of soldered wires, draped overskirt, transparent sleeveless top and a bolero with hooks & eyes behind. The fabric was actually creme (polyester) + white (cotton) so dyeing it gave this nice result.
Last picture is from the diploma exhibition which was... a year ago XD

Evil princess 2.
Black underskirt (one of my old ones), skirt/apron with a stiff collar - has straps with buckles in the back. The overskirt (transparent fabric) is a kind of cape over which the straps go. It's draped over a wire bustle. The blouse is altered by adding the cuffs.
Oh and hey, that's actually me in the oval picture XD Some pictures will have this oval form because they're to be printed like that from my portfolio.

Evil witch 1.
The shoulderhorns are part of the dress. They're quite light (polyurethane foam + wires) and wearable, actually. The dress has some plastic bones (that revolutionary technique) and a corset lacing in the back. Around the knees the lining changes into pvc. The dress fabric is dyed cotton and it has a similar pattern to evil princess #1 but smaller.
I removed one of Mania's arms for these pictures o_x.

Evil witch 2.
Another wire bustle/panier thingy. 3 of them, yay! Soldering is fun.
I wanted to combine 1880's bustle (back) with a 18th century robe a la francaise (sides). The whole construction goes under the skirt, then the draped overskirt and those leaf-like thingies ^^;; The stay is made of 1 piece. It's very stiff and not very comfortable but fits me well. I'll use it for something else, definitely.

Some more pictures of the exhibition. It was in Hotel Polonia and there were celebrities walking around and I felt so disgusted with that atmosphere/society that I hid reading in the corner during the party. I had to stay till the end because I insisted on mannequins (other people had models and a walking fashion show). Gblewhgheghghh.

New doll

Anyway. I got a fantastic new doll! madamebizarre inspired me with her talking about dollfies ^o^ So from now on I'm going to make clothes/accessories that fit only my wonderful new doll!
I never had a doll as big as her though *-* I named her Mania^* and did her makeup and wig styling:

^*Hence the name. It's stupid, I know.

After a makeover ^^. Look at the before photo:

Chipped, disgustingly orange paint, scratches everywhere, only one arm fitting. Well, I fixed that and gave her another arm (from a different set) which required drilling a new arm-hole in her torso. It was awful but it worked. Then I spray painted everything (it's not white, it's 'elm') and did the makeup/eyes. I don't have an airbrush do I made the smudges with my eyeshadows and dry pastels and then fixed everything with clear spray enamel:

Actually Mania is very useful for me. Soon I'm going to post a huge fashion photo session with her wearing my clothes. She's a bit anorexic, has no hips (but gigantically broad shoulders) but with a few safety pins it works...

I also remade one of the plaster heads. I gave it an overall plastic surgery and made the head circumference same as mine so it can model my hats. I also sprayed it with elm:

Resin Cameos Overload @_@

Over a year ago I bought a really big batch of cameos and frames from Etsy.

Some of them I sold on Allegro (Polish ebay equivalent) as I noticed a complete lack of such cheap cameos then (now there's plenty T_T). My prices were muuuch higher and as a result, I got my share of cameos/frames for free. Looks like I'm good at business XD

I painted some of them because I didn't like the original colors. I also removed (with paper knife blade <333) some additional decorations - in my opinion they had too many flowers/butterflies.

Thennn, around December I finally realized an idea that's been in my mind forever. I bought bottles of silicone and resins to experiment with. It's amazing <3 Silicone rules!

✮ The resin was kind of amber colored, so each copy I made I then painted -_-; Fortunately I quickly discovered that I could make the resin any color I wanted. This is what my beginnings looked like:

I didn't want to use my metal frames up so I used alternative frames ^^;

I love the way I attach beads etc as frames :3

Because it takes so little time and money to make such things, I've been selling them. Most of those above I sold (I mean, personally I wouldn't wear them anyway. Cheap glass rhinestones *shudders*).

I made it from plasticine and used silicone to make copies.
This one is painted. And I know it's got only 6 tentacles visible XD

✮ Mixing colors sometimes resulted in unexpected effects. I continued this idea and made a set of ZOMBIE CAMEOS^TM. The red 'blood' is painted on. The one in the metal frame is my favorite and I wear it quite often ^^

✮ Then I made new molds which included the frame as well.

✮ Speaking of frames, I bought a beautiful metal (not silver T_T) picture frame on a flea market and immediately cloned it. This is still work in progress because I need to make more. But more or less it looks like this:

The metal one is original. As is the cameo inside it. I used my superawesome skills and made
the cameo bigger and fitting the frame. I can also derive a simpler frame from it, like in the center.

✮ I also experiment with copying other objects. I can make openwork things like the crowns below... well, whole. Kind of ^^; (That piece of watch is for something else.)

✮ I copied the face of a Barbie. And painted it. And gave it some hair. It's a lapel pin and I wear it *dies*

✮ I can make 2 or 3 (or more, theoretically) colored things:

The one on the left is all red but covered with black paint in places.
The right one has 2 colors of resin and a frame with the same technique as on the left.

☠ Heyyy remember a few entries ago I showed a panting of a skull profile. Well, I made it 3D. 2,5D, actually (my theory: reliefs are 2,5 dimensional XD)

Yay, skulls! ~~I probably made a million anatomical mistakes...~~

The one in the top right is actually very special. The white is pearly. Which is obviously not visible in the photo -_-; It's really a wonderful idea (eyeshadow + resin ^^). The background was supposed to look stone-like so I mixed some crumbs of half dry black paint in. The black/white one is simple *yawn*. The frame round the bottom skull (which is supposed to look like a real conch cameo XD) is painted brass. I'm not going to copy it.

✮ I can also make parts and pieces. This is very useful for me. For some other technique ^^;

Of course I have much much more resin stuff (+ a box/chest of silicone molds) than I showed here :3

Mannequins!

Omgomg! I got the best free present possible! Bodies!

I was walking back home today when I saw that some men were taking out display mannequins from the sports shop (right below my windows). There was a big empty dumpster/container prepared for them - the shop was getting rid of old mannequins (and some other stuff but I didn't care about that). I talked to the porters and the let me keep them ^o^

They aren't all complete but it doesn't matter. The pair of arms is from a different kind than those two females but I'll make them fit >3

This guy is empty inside and superlight *-*; I don't have any use for him yet so I'll take him to the basement and ~~chain him to the wall and keep as a slave~~ to join Jean-Pierre (my male sewing mannequin). They'll keep each other company ~~slashhh~~.

4 heavy heads *-* They're very small, 53 cm (my head is 57). They're made of plaster which means I can attach more plaster to them and make the diameter bigger. Or just make them into monsters (see: previous entry).

9 hands (one is not in the pic). One hand is missing a thumb but that won't be a problem because I'll copy a thumb from some other hand and attach it. Because I'm cool like that.

I will use them not only to present stuff on but also as sculpting bases. Annnd it's just what I needed to make my dream interior design project come true. Not in this apartment though because there's wallpaper everywhere, but in the future.

I want to hm, insert pieces and parts (heads sliced *-*) of life-sized mannequins (especially hands), dolls etc into walls. I mean, it would look like they're coming out of the walls. Like through a wall of light/smoke. Everything would be smoothed and then painted in one, dark color. I could use them as coat hangers or such ^^; It would look quite creepy but I love this idea.

I will now experiment with one arm though: I'll paint it white and attach to my wallpapered wall. it's going to hold my curtains *__*

But unfortunately I have to put off this fun because I'm busy with other stuff now. My soul is crying ;_;

Also! When the mannequins, especially those 2 girls stand in the dark, you have an awfully creepy feeling that there is *someone* there. I really almost freaked out a few times today.
...In a few days my sister's friend is staying the night so I'm going to scare her and place the mannequins in the hallway or in other places. Muhuhuh >3

Casts and Stuff *

Sculptures in other words. And copies of them. Lots of pictures. Beware.

A year ago (omg_time_files_etc) I wrote about my apprenticeship in Warsaw's Great Theater. I wrote about the millinery section but I also spend 2 weeks in the props section. It rocked. Props, decorations, sculptures, lots of chemicals and paints *___* They didn't have any tasks then so I couldn't help. I could play instead. So I tried some sculpting.

♠ The first thing I made was a small relief kind of monster face. From plasticine <3 Then I covered it with plaster to make the mold. The mold was then filled with 50986386 superthin layers of latex (which is impossible to buy in Poland because it sucks here. They had it becaue they had connections T_T I haven't searched for it online yet because I don't need it asap)) and one strengthening layer of cloth.

When it finally dried it looked like this:

I had an idea to put it as a facemask of sorts. Instead of attaching it with a string, I used a handy method of holding with by making a vacuum. Eh, kind of. I had to hold my breath to take those pictures so appreciate it:

It smells like rubber ~_~

Then I painted it!

It can be used as a decoration for hats (pics of that later).

♣ But I wasn't satisfied with a small relief monster. I needed to makes something bigger. So I went to the millinery's and borrowed one of their wooden heads (life size). Then I covered it with plasticine. I didn't have anything particular in mind so I made a random alien monster head. I spent most of the time trying to make it symmetrical and I think it is ^^

The mold was fully 3D so it consisted of 2 parts. Here Mr. Alienface is being divided:

Using special methods, I filled the plaster mold with plaster (yes^^;) and I had a copy! I had to remove the plasticine eventually but I took a picture of how a piece of it looked like. Like modern art hahaha:

It still needs more polishing and painting but I'm a procrastinator. Mr. Alienface is superheavy and currently resides next to my left elbow. He used to stand in my ~~cupboard~~ Cabinet of Curiosities but I ran out of shelves as I found another, amazing Curiosity which took his place. I will show it to you someday. It's got killer fangs *_*

♠ One day I was feeling particularly happy and cheerful so I made a small monsterface to show it. I then put it into a silver bezel and can pin it everywhere~!

I tried painting a white version of it, but I'm not sure if I like it.

♣ Scream!
When I was a teenager I used to love the Scream movies *_* Especially the 'style' of the killers. When they wore the mask and didn't talk, just nodded and/or gesticulated ahhhh it was amazing ~~and sexy as hell~~.

So I made a small Scream mask. I called it Krzyczek.

Miniatures

Oh em gee, a public post *everyone dies*!

Yes, because I have a plan, actually! I have over a year of stuff to catch up T~T

In this post I want to show the miniatures I've painted since the last... post. Only five though. I have many more but they're unfinished. And I'm not painting because I don't have any good brushes. All my fine brushes went bald from overuse and now serve as useful sticks.
(...I have an art shop like 50 meters from my place but apparently I'm too lazy.)

☆ Let's start with the skull *_*
I'm slightly obsessed with profiles (that's no secret) and skull profiles are just too cool. I like how this turned out. For the frame I used a piece of a watch I bought at a flea market. It was round but when I squeezed it it was my favorite 3 x 4 cm ^^ It was golden(something)-plated steel but it was an awful color so I polished it off and now it's just lovely steel.

☆ Sakura! Or rather some cherry/plum blossom. It was very simple to paint and the method I used to attach the beads is revolutionary. It's all nice and transparent.

☆ A shipwreck of darkness and doom! My first time painting a ship in my life XD It's loosely copied from some other painting and of course I changed the name of the ship to mine (which looks a bit silly). There's some 3D effects (paint, clear enamel, paint, clear enamel etc...) which obviously cannot be seen on a photo...

☆ Tetsu! Ah, the most beautiful man in the world (I'm dead serious here). As usual I failed to catch his true beauty *sigh*. But at least it's something resembling Tetsu...

☆ A mysterious Japanese mask/ghost! Ages ago, I saved an icon from some lj/forum with this face. I love it so much but I don't remember where I got it from, much less where the original image came... If you know, please tell me and I'll give credits.
Right now it's one of my favorite brooches <3

Actually, those miniatures should be memorable for me because they're the end of an era. I'm not going to paint on modeling clay ever again. I've found a better technique ^o^

Also, I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG. I haven't listened to anything else in two days. I have no idea what it is about but I'm convinced it's half in Japanese (actually it's not because I checked the lyrics, humph) o_O;

Haribote no Otona - An adult from papier mache. Awesome MUCC song, and very adequate post title ^^

This is something I needed very badly. Sure I had a mannequin already, but it was a bought one and even when I modified it a bit, it still didn't resemble my own shape because it was too short. Everything is too short for me ;o;! If something fits me vertically, I usually wear it with an almost Empire waist! Bwaaa! So of course I made something that fits me perfectly. It's from polyurethane foam (♥), papier mache with decoupage decorations~

I called it Soni, spelled either ソニ, ソ2 or So2 which is a wordplay on my name - it's supposed to be my clone *-* The measurements are correct but hm, in the waist I'm like 0 and the mannequin is O, which means it's more round while I'm oval... gah, hard to explain. Anyway, the measurements are ok so this is what counts!

Ehehe, messy ^^;;;;;;

Above is the process of covering the foam (shaped with a huge knife :D) with the papier mache. My own recipe, containing lots of dextrine (dextrine = my new love). It was drying for dayyyys but is wonderfully wood-like hard. To smoothen it I tried sandpapering (room killer - dust absolutely everywhere) and layers of paint. It still requires more evening, decoupaged things have like 15 layers of enamel while I only have 1 so far (because I was making it at night, just before the diploma show (I wanted to show it there). Procrastination to the extreme *bows*.). So it's not 100% finished ^^;

Decoupage is so much fun! This was my first time doing it, but definitely not the last. The decoupage fate is also going to meet my male mannequin, Jean-Pierre (I bought him) >:3
So I have 3 mannequins so far! Aaand, soon I'll complete the 4th, a squishy one for corsets *___*
Haha I'm running out of room for them <3

Also, I'm working on my portfolio *sees people roll their eyes*, the third version of it. I made one (containing like 30% of stuff I've made because I left it on the last moment and had no more time *bows again*.) for the show but I changed my mind about it and am making something simpler but still very cool. So I'm sitting here photoshopping the photos (everything is oval!) and noticed what a progress with photoshopping I've made. An example:

An original photo. The photographic genius is my sister, as you can see on the shadow (she was standing on the windowsill). I can only sigh. And it was my previous camera (it looks so much worse in the original size, all those pixels x_x) so I can only sigh again...
And then, I thought that something like this...

...was ok to post. One day I'll either change all posts here to private or just work on all the photos >:F

Anyway now I made this version:

And it's far more than just heightened contrast. Oh well, I like it very much.

Tatsu and Tetsu paintings

So yeah let's start with Tetsu. Tetsu is painted with black ink (+ b/w crayons) and in similar style to Atsushi ~~because Tetsu is his son~~. He's also located sort of in front of Atsushi and they both make my working room pretty ^o^
The wooden frame for Tetsu was originally golden and looking quite cheap so I painted it black and ordered a thin glass plane. So of course it reflects stuff and you can see my hands and camera, which are, of course, not painted.

And similarly to Atsushi, I think I've made his expression more haughty than it really is. But that's good ♥

Now, the Tatsurou from my living room *-*

First of all, look at the frame. The fraaame @_@ It's the same as Atsushi's only I goldened it. Ok, I actually spend a LOT of time doing this, because after goldening, I blackened it again and again.

I couldn't take a picture without any straight angle because the flash destroyed everything each time. So it's a half-side view of the whole.
Details~~

However, with the flash on, some more details, like the brown color of the eyes, can be seen.

Actually I think it's one of my absolutely favorite pictures of him. But I hate the fact that he's got such high contrast and white foundation that his nose is barely visible (ehhh visual kei ._.). I love Tatsurou's nose but I think I failed at painting it now ^^;

But oh how the painting completes my room aesthetically! When I finished and hang it, I sat in front of it and stared in awe for over two hours. I know it's far from perfect but I love it so so much ♥♥♥

Hm, this is actually the first serious picture of such size I have painted. I have plans for more because difficult as painting is, it's also much fun for me ^^

My next painting is going to be a masterpiece: 'Self portrait with black pearls' XD I have already bought a frame for it. It's very beautiful but I also had to spend a lot of time on it, as it originally was bright happy golden ~_~ The size of the painting itself is going to be 70 x 50 cm, which is HUGE! For me, at least ^^

So from self-made painting that's all for now. I also have these two little Tetsus but they're just print outs. When I saw the scans from that photoshoot, I immediately printed these two pictures out and framed them. I plan to paint them in the future but they can be as the are for now. I took them off the wall to take the pictures. About 11 x 14 cm each:

Remake

Apart from making things, my equally big (or even bigger?) interest is remaking things. But as it is slightly less outstanding, I seldom post about it here. But wow, when I think about it, it's sort of like an obsession already. I think I'm remaking things too much o_O When I see cool things in their original form (lol) in the shop, I immediately have a vision how they're going to look after undergoing a severe process of astarisation. And while initially those changes were small and relatively simple, now I end up having real challenges ^^;

Examples:

- I don't remember when I last bought an item of clothing and decided to just let it be as it is. I have TONS of clothes waiting to be remade. I even started playing with shoes ._. (because remaking accessories is standard)
- Not being satisfied with the color cosmetics available, I mix them. I have my own mixes of lipsticks and lipglosses and nail enamels.
- I remix mp3s ~_~

And the most prominent example: my headquarters. So I have two fully furnished rooms where everything is new (apart from 3 wardrobes from the previous apaato - I modified them like hell though) and... the only major element or piece of furniture I have NOT modified or have not modified YET but plan to, is the chair in my working room. Because I happened to want it simple, black and comfy ._. Apart from that, it's eeeeeeeeverything. The chandelier, the sofa, mirrors, frames, curtains, flower pots, clocks, windows, door etc etc etc etc etc @_@;

Ah, but I'm not complaining, I'm just noticing it ^^;

Now I'd just like to show an awesome method of changing the color of wood of furniture~! The first (and test) subject was my main computer desk. I posted a picture of it when I bought it some time ago:

Wow, the doll looks completely different now XD I still haven't named her though...

But anyway, the desk! See its color? It's hideous. And definitely doesn't match my floor (which is the main reason I have to change furniture). I wanted it to be dark cherry *_* But as painting it with paint was out of the question (I didn't want to ruin the nice wood), I decided to try staining it. But in order to do so, I had to remove the layer of varnish. Doing so mechanically by sand paper would be stupid masochism so while prowling a flea market once I found an ojiichan who restores antiques and talked with him about it ^^ I don't think he took me seriously though because I was wearing a hat, lacey gloves etc ahah >_> But~! Ojiichan gave me a can of mysterious magical substance to remove varnish from wood. Oooh, but it really is mysterious, as the can was not labelled *_* And ojiichan told me to be extremely careful because it's explosive and acidic ~~and lethal~~ *____* And it really is, a few times there were some pressure reactions inside the can which resulted in the lid popping off. Oooh.

So I attacked the desk with it. After leaving a layer of that explosive goo for a few minutes, I removed it with something that looks like a bigger toothbrush but with metal hair. And the result was really magical!! The varnish was gone and the wood was in perfect condition, all smooth and dry and without a trace of the explosive goo. So the desk looked like this then:

To achieve an ideal color I mixed 3 colors of stains: mahogany, chestnut and ebony. To apply it I constructed a special tool from an old mascara with an old powder sponge attached to is end (a sponge brush?). Yay for girly creativity XD

(Those darker spots mean that it's simply not dry yet)

I left out the marquetry field because I thought it should be more exposed. It looks really natural now~ Then I covered everything with half matt varnish and it was ready <3

(Those vertical cuts on the surface are because it can be opened and has a mirror inside)

I also used the same technique and stain on a very cool corner cabinet:

I'm not showing the rest yet because it's full of dolls and plushies and those await their own collective post.

Annnd on a mannequin~! I finally bought one! But the mannequin itself is in the process of thorough modification:
Because I wanted the mannequin to have similar measurements to mine, which are weird and because of my hourglassness I consist of 3 different sizes (that's one of the reasons I modify clothes so much XDDD), I removed a lot of centimeters from its waist (using a candle and a paper knife^^;;), plan to put some sponge in the hips, and remove even more centimeters from the neck. Seriously who on earth has such thick neck? ~~Tatsurou.~~ I also will change the black lycra suit into something beige.

So I changed the wooden elements:

And painted its silver pipe gold (I have no silver elements in my living room).

I also named the mannequin! It's Maneko. 'Mane' from mannequin and 子. But it's written 魔猫!!! Ahahahahah XD ~~lame, I know~~

The top is an example of remade clothes. It's Calvin Klein actually and I added all the lace and ribbons.

But oh! something else is different in the 'after' picture! Um, I decorated the door ._. I bought one roll of a cool wallpaper and decided to do something with it. Painting and wallpapering the door (I have 2 door >_>) took me whole today and yesterday. I decorated everything with a golden cord:

And from what was left from the roll I also made a matching lampshade XD

I'm not posting full pictures fo my rooms because there's still so much work to be done @_@ And the worst part is that because apart from that I also have to work on other parts of the apaato (for example I'm in the process of restoring and repainting the piano) so despite having holiday I have very little free time to make things XD

Astarise Fashion (yet again~)

Hello uh, July~~ XD'

Actually I had completely different entry planned but it so happened that I was offered a random photoshoot on Monday. Random free photoshoot.
Well, there's this one big Polish fashion portal whose representatives were all over me and 'ahhh your stuff is so cool and original omg ♥' and asked me to let them write an article about me (ok... o_O) as well as to have my things photographed. They organized everything: the model, the makeup artist, the photographer, the place and transport so I should consider myself really lucky because if I wanted to hire each above mentioned component of a photoshoot myself, it would cost me a fortune. And a real fortune if they were pros O_O

They booked the place before asking me though, so I'm not quite happy about that because it was a big saloon with super luxurious modern furniture. Half of them were from crocodile skin so I felt like in a crocodile cemetery ;_; And a cow cemetery too, since there was a lot of leather.
And even though the place was quite big, there were very few compositions suitable so it was a disappointment. If I had been completely in charge of this, I would have chosen something different. Actually for me this was the first situation when I had to discuss and compromise my ideas with somebody (photographer-san) >_> It also felt very weird to dress up model-san. Model-san, despite being very nice and friendly, was smaller than me and wayyy shorter so I had to use safety pins to make my clothes look somewhat decent on her. Also, because of the height difference, we decided that she should be sitting instead of standing in the first outfit~

So the first set is the outfit which I like best and the photo of which (with me wearing it) has already been posted here.

To make the corset look fitting, she's got a whole big shirt stuffed into the front of it hahaha~ But it's good because such unrealistically-proportioned silhouette was in my initial design drawing XD
The pictures are almost not photoshopped. I only lessened the colors and deleted the flowers that were painted on the wall. I left them in the last picture though.

Next is something I haven't posted pictures of yet, but I have posted the design XD.

Photographer-san insisted on that shell-lamp ._.; Also~! The whole outfit includes a white puffy petticoat but I lost it somewhere in the abyss of my working room O_O; This is how it looks with it. The bottom black stripe is not laced to the skirt in the picture with the mannequin:

- The blouse has a hooks & eyes closing at the back.
- The black stripes are elastic.
- The pantyhose are hand painted.
- I made the mini top hat about a year ago. The outside is from velvet and the white brooch is detachable. Here's how it looks on Kyouichi (who's baa~ald XD):

The inside is from a different fabric~ (and it's all black, despite the flashlight)

The third one uses a blouse from an outfit I had very little time to make. I thought I'd choose to maker something simple then, and simple = sleeveless. Actually it proved to be as complicated as the sleeved ones haha^^;

She's sitting completely unladylike >_> Despite my protests photographer-san found it cool. And yay for the parasol~! The composition didn't look good when it was opened though ;o;

The blouse consists of 10 parts and I'm very happy with the pattern. It fits me perfectly (well, me, not her ^^;;;). Yay and let's look at the detail of the seam. This is me being perfectionistic:

Yes, I will buy myself a new scanner soon and then I will replace these ugly, underdetailed photos. My problem is that I don't know which scanner to buy >__>;

And unfortunately that's all from the photoshoot. Photographer-san took abut 300 shots of each set @_@ Everything took too much time, which we eventually ran out of.

That's the main classroom where my things (poster = not mine) were an exhibition for a whole semester, haha. Mannequins are a privilege here, most people's stuff hangs insignificantly on coat hangers...
Of course that's definitely not all I've made for school muahahah. The rest just awaits its turn to be photographed >3

Octopus and Anemones

Haro~ and another hisashiburi. So many things happened but I finally have summer holiday. Yay. But that's not what I wanted to write about (not yet >3). I wanted to show a bag I made last week (I made 93867398 other things last week as well but this is my favorite). It is a cool bag. It is an octopus bag. Lol!

And if anyone makes the slightest 'omg tentacle raep!!1' joke, then... *shakes fist*. This is an innocent little octopus *nod*.

I find it so cute *~*

It's got 8 tentacles and consists of 6 parts:

That central 'button' is from an old foldable umbrella
and it's connected to the interior with a screw, a metal circle and sponge.
Yes, all those elements are essential in this design *_*;

The 'entrance' was supposed to look like an octopus beak.

And it's got inner pockets! That's my hand in one of them ^^;;

I am perfectly aware that octopus tentacles have their suction cup thingies on the inner side, but I decided to place them differently to show them better. They are actually plastic grommets for hanging curtains. Haha~! And because I couldn't get black ones in such small size anywhere, I bought colorless ones and painted them on the inside:

Putting technical details aside, it can be worn (carried?), as usual with my bags, in several ways. The basic way is like this:

(We're ignoring my hair here, I had an afro the previous day. Those are its remains.)

The loose tentacles don't have any function, but the have wire in them so they can be shaped:

The diagonal strap is actually idle, the weigh of the bag is on the other 2 (4 tentacles). It can also be put under the arm and hang loosely on the hips. And the whole thing can also be worn as a backpack!!1 But it's troublesome to put it on, haha.
Everything is, admittedly, slightly troublesome here anyway, and those straps are very easy to get tangled in ._.;

Uhm, end of serious part. Omake tiem!

Of course it's a nice and friendly octopus but sometimes it gets hungry. And then it tends to attack people. Like this:

Anemones are among my favorite flowers and these ones I grew myself *_* I also have blue, pink and red ones, but these twin white ones I attacked with my camera like a paparazzi.

I should be making those 'normal' dresses now but as they are boring and plain, I decided to upload photos of something more interesting I have made. The photos were taken a long time ago, before my trip to London, but I'm a procrastinator ne ^^;

Ok~! The first project I called Elegant Gothic Seaweed, which is not a serious name of course.

Oooh, how dark~~

The outfit consists of:
- Green, tight-fitting blouse with stand collar and a zipper in the back, painted with paints for silk (dark blue and black), cut, torn and burned in various ways.
- Sleeveless black vest laced in front. The green crown print is actually the crown from my own logo but modified so that it would look like a crown from sea weed ._. The vest has two tiny (and invisible) zippers on the line of shoulders (a truly ingenious idea - I rule).
- Two-part pantsu~ With two smaller sea weed crowns.
- Striped stockings (bought, modified).
- Black wig (bought, modified).

We had to make huge posters from our pictures which were to hang in the classrooms and the concept for those posters was to make them look like magazine covers, only with one's name as the title. And, as people generally suck, it turned out that I was the only one who did that. I also think I'm the only person in the group who can use Photoshop.... ... .. .
But nevermind! I just wrote that to explain why I put my nickname on it.

The poster in question~~~ People say it's scary ._.;

What's scary about that? XD It's just dark~~
I used a lot of Photoshop on this though. Look how the photo looked originally:

That's a ribbon from the vest lacing. It was so annoying but I didn't want to cut it >_> Haha and I moved the lion head~ It was a fountain, actually. But each time I saw that fountain, it was always out of order and its 'bowl' (below the lion) was empty. My plan was to get into the bowl and to make it all look like I was coming out of it, Sadako-like. Like a fountain demon \^o^/
But alas, it was full of dirty rain water this time so I just jumped on it like that ._.

Another idea for a poster, but in the end I only printed the first one (A0 format so it's huge @_@). And hey, I didn't heighten the contrast to make my face look noseless/visual kei. The sun just decided to shine on me then *_* (good, because it was still winter then and I was freezing)
Also, I had white foundation on ^^

Oh yayy finally a photo in which my legs are not supershort (my sister has a special talent to make them look so). I still think they look longer irl hahah XDD

The back~ of the outfit~ Eh, let's move on.

Ooh, I found a tree *-* I though the tree would look good as it was dark green.

I don't look like it here (or do I?) but I was actually quite stressed because trees/bushes = spiders.
And I sure as hell didn't want to get them on me. Even though it was winter ._.
So yeah, please appreciate my bravery here~

This project was nameless but mr puro photographer-san called me Dark Clown Lady (wtf) and I decided to leave the name >_>

The outfit consists of:
- Short blouse, laced at the back, with long, two-layered sleeves, trimmed with two kinds of lace ribbon.
- White, lace-trimmed underskirt.
- Fancy black overskirt.
- Laced mini top hat.
- Corset.
- Gloves.
- Cameo.
- Wig (bought, veeery modified).
- Modesty t-shirt (bought, unmodified! XD).

Props are made from various cables and plastic pipes I bought in an electrical isle of Leroy Merlin. And some other stuff. Everything connected with nails, glue and this silicone clay thingy. And it's all very symmetrical and well-weighed so each thing can stand and keep balance on its own \m/
But cables!! Are such a wonderful idea - when I spray painted everything black, it looked like real ironwork! The best part is, it weighs almost nothing but looks sooo heavy. The pipes are 2,5 meters long and it was really uncomfortable to transport those silly props across the city.

Kyaa this was my first session in a studio~~ It was fun.

Oh ho hoo~ I like this picture. A lot. Even though I look fat in it (especially when you compare it with the design. Nooo *jumps off cliff*) XDD The corset doesn't give much reduction ne...

About the photo: I didn't change the colors! It was all supposed to look as black/white as possible and I think I succeeded in it. White foundation and all. Speaking of, here's a zoom on my face to show what little is visible of my makeup (the wig covered some).

My eyebrows aren't shaped like this normally but because their natural color is colorless blond, the difference wasn't visible when I covered them with white foundation. I also covered most of my neck with it and later got stains on the collar T_T

I don't have any more pictures of the outfit, sadly. The back of the overskirt looks similar to the front, and, as I mentioned, the blouse is laced in the back. The overskirt can be worn separately, without the white one, and I think I will wear it like that in the summer because the cuts are so strategically placed that they don't show anything, uh, indecent XDD

Also, I spent a lot of time photoshopping this thing ._. Mostly because of the background. Only the top of the background didn't require changes. In the middle of the picture this nice, plain grey background ended and the wooden floor was visible. Of course it was intended but I decided I didn't like that.

Yayy das Ende :D I have yet to take good photos of the two remaining outfits, but I think I'll leave one on a mannequin...

And now I'm back to work.

One last thing: I'm in MUCC's Flight PV! For a brief second, but still ♥

Atsushi x 4 plus jewelry talk

Uhm, I wrote the above because there are Atsushis in this post. First of all, let me present you my biggest painting ever - 40 x 50 cm. Considering I'm rather a miniaturist (usually nothing above A5 format) this is quite an accomplishment. It's also the first painting I've framed and hung on a wall. Creating 3 more paintings awaits me soon though *sigh* (2 per room). This Atsushi is actually the most noticeable thing when one opens the door to my working room ^o^

Beautiful frame, isn't it? No, scratch that, it's fucking beautiful. I'm so in love with the design I bought 2. And do you know where? In IKEA. Quite a shock because their things are usually awfully minimalistic o_o;

Kyyaaa but enough about the frame ^^;; I love the pose he has in the original photo. So sophisticated and slightly pensive, melancholic yet haughty and powerful *~* Of course with an expression like that AND Atsushi being particularly hard to paint, I failed completely at it. My version is definitely more haughty and even smirking slightly ._.; But nonetheless I like the result, I think it looks good in the frame. Anything looks good in that frame, it's utter perfection ;-; (<- tears of rapture)

He has no eyes X_X But they were black like this in the original picture so it should be ok.

The hand is a bit crappy ^^; And look, there's a signature~! I thought it would look 'professional' if I signed it (too bad I don't have a personal signature worked out yet). And I think the year '07' makes it look even more pro. I mean, it suggests that it comes from a person who paints a lot and has to date own paintings *_*

The intended technique was black ink + water but even though I bought special, textured paper, it proved to be incredibly difficult ;o; belong_to_g, full respect to you for mastering watercolors on big surfaces m(_ _)m
Also, I didn't have brushes big enough. I couldn't buy them because I was painting it at night (of course) so I took my makeup brushes. The ones for powder were too big but the blush ones were perfect ^^ So Atsushi is mostly painted with makeup brushes, haha.
Oh yeah, why I mentioned an 'intended' technique. Well of course I did a whole lot of mistakes and with watercolors it's difficult to correct them. But I did nonetheless and quite successfully if I may say so. Using various means such as crayons, for example~~

Ok I think that's all I have to say about it. The next painting for my working room will be of ~~Atsushi's son~~ Tetsu. Also painted with ink. Tatsurou (and somebody even more special to me haha) will be in my bedroom and they will be colorful ^o^ And painted with oil and acrylics. Yup, it's decided. The only thing that's stopping me from painting them right away is the lack of ~~time~~ cool frames. But I'm searching, I'm searching...

Also, I like that pose so much I painted it as a miniature brooch. And dramatically failed at the expression again. I don't think the result has much Atsushiness but I think it's cool nevertheless *_*. 3 more miniatures (3 x 4 cm) of Atsushi and a lot of general talking about jewelry is next.

Covered with half-matte enamel. And it's got real pearls~~~ I attached them like the gokusaishiki beads for Tatsurou. Only they were white pearls originally. I decided it looked not right and covered them with transparent black nail polish.

Also one of my favorite Atsushi pictures. It's slightly cheesy ('It's blooooood in this goblet. Kampai.') though but let's ignore that ^^;; I think I finally managed to make him look like himself here. I guess? Hm.
Well anyway, it's got a signature and it's covered with maaany layers of enamel so it's all smooth and shiny (and thus hard to photograph >_>). The frame is very simple but I shall elaborate on that after another picture:

Ah, Romance PV~~ It's actually based on a screencap I made. I think it looks weird but still, I like it.

The frames for all 3 things above and for gokusaishiki Tatsurou are from silver. I actually bought them in a special shop for jewelers \m/ They are very cheap and look like this:

Now, why am I writing this all? Because apparently there is a special size for oval things ( 3 x 4 cm) decided by jewelers across the world *_* I mean, the frames fit so much of my stuff~!

Like this. This is a plastic (*sigh*) rose cameo which I think looks quite ok. It's also 3 x 4. Btw, the picture on the left is its initial form. The right one is what I did to it. Such small change and it tok away all tackiness~

Or like these stones. They're just waiting for me to make cool frames (use the ready ones and attach some silver ornaments). The middle one (is already framed) would look cool with a bigger and more ornate things *-*~~

I love onyxes. These ones are prettily convex.

I started it ages ago but all it needed was enameling (which I did today). It needs another 2 or three layers so let's consider its imperfection in texture justified ^^;

Well hello, myself. Er, at least it's based on a picture of myself in a black wig. I like it how the eyes are so blue~~ The beds are hmmm how to explain it. Well they're not really beads, they're more like grains. Holeless. They're supertiny and attached by superglue.

A very simple idea, ne? I should try this more often.

極彩色

Ah, I decided to screw school projects (but only for a few hours XD) and make this instead ^^; Because~~~ I really like ムック's new concept of expressing their darkness through colors, as weird as it sounds. I absolutely love 極彩, it made me restore all my faith in their music. I also love this photoshoot, hence the choice.

I used the technique again. I don't think I'll ever go back to the previous one o_O I mean, when I look at all my former works I suddenly find them so incredibly ugly and imperfect >o<;;; I'm so happy I have discovered it~~ Now I know why all professional miniaturists are so good. Even the rococo ones (<- my fav) who usually used oil (I use acrylics)~~!
I also used a special method of attaching the beads. I'm definitely going to repeat it in the future.

I still need a lot more practice but at least now I can make the 'larger' areas
with colors gently blending look almost without texture and visible brush strokes.

ムック and メリー corsets

I'm back~! But before writing a proper report (omgitwassogreatandsofulloftetsuomgomg), I'm going to post something I've been planning since April o_O; Those are basically two outfits the main parts of which are corsets. They are intentionally quite similar in style~

Let's start with the one I made for ムック. I had quite a problem with the design because my style is definitely not like a typical MUCCer's. So one night I got this idea about blending the two styles together and naming the outcome 'Victorian MUCCer', as silly as it sounds. Now when I think about it, there isn't really much of 'MUCC' style in it, haha. But let's ignore that.

The basic element, the corset:

It looks like I used a special fabric with a ムック logo print, doesn't it? Sadly, such thing doesn't exist - I had to make it manually. Firstly I remade the logo image from jpg onto Corel Draw format and then had it plotted out on this special iron-on foil (like here). Of course then it has to be um, detached? I don't know what to call it (<-in none of the languages I know ._.) but I took a photo of the process. It took me literally a whole day to finish it >_>

Then it looked like this:

I also made the busk ._.;
Because I couldn't find a bias tape/ribbon/whatever that would match the print, I cut out some straps of the foil and ironed it as a trim. Not the best idea, of course, but I don't think the stretch breaks (only 3 of them, fortunately) are very visible. Also, I am aware that the red string doesn't match the red at all but I honestly couldn't find anything better ;o; I didn't want to use black...

As for the outfit, the design looks like this (haha I drew it only last week XD):

That's a slightly idealized picture of me XD Unfortunately I don't have a photo of myself wearing it. I simply forgot to take one (and now it's too late because somebody has the brooch muahahah XDD).
Ah, no, wait, I do have one!

I'm... on the very left, with the purse and checkered wristband ._. But there's no Tatsurou on this picture and it makes me very sad ;o; Ah well. At least my silly Victorian MUCCer idea was appreciated >:3

And now the メリー corset~! Basically my メリー outfit was based on the ムック one but I don't think it's a bad thing ._.

The photos suck o_O; I think it might be because my oh-so-wonderful sister dropped my Seiji-sama, my beloved camera on the sidewalk ;O; I'm worried and sad~~!

The pattern is the same because I think it's a perfect pattern for an underbust corset for me. Self-drafted too. I think I've made about 4 mock-ups of it and added 34574723 changes so the final effect should be really satisfying @_@;

It took me some time to draw all the little details of their logo anew but I think it was worth it. Also, I'm never making a busk myself. It's just stupid. It was good as a challenge thing but nothing more. I mean, I can solder things alright - I even like it, but I ABHOR drilling the holes. Especially in steel. It's because 1) I'm irrationally afraid of using the driller - I have a feeling it's going to explode and mutilate me x_X I use protective goggles, gloves and am extremely careful but whenever I break a drill (happened quite often) I want to scream. I hate drills >.< 2) I consider that machine to be utterly unfeminine. It's all heavy and strength-requiring. Bleh. I have this mini drill which I consider ok though because it's tiny and kawaii and very light ^^
Anyway, while I was halfway done with my total of 16 holes in steel, I got suddenly enlightened that I could have given in to some specialist who deals with metal (keys and such, I guess...) _-_; What's ironic is that I actually hadn't thought of it before. SEE WHAT ALL THIS 自分で自分で ATTITUDE IS DOING TO ME?! Aghghgghfoug;ogh;jrgihrgphigf.,md;.nmd

Wow it's been a while since I posted something public o_O;
It doesn't mean I've stopped making things, oh no. I've just been too lazy to photograph/post them. So now I'll make it up a little and post some things I made back in February/March >_>; Even though they're all a bit worn-out by now I'm awfully proud of them. Because they're not just effect of simple sewing. They're all about construction! And what a construction it is. Well, it's simply ingenious ^^;

Ok and now a little introduction: until recently, my silly baito was practically about carrying A4 sheets of paper. A4 is pretty big and it requires something stiff so as not to bend the paper. Sadly what the shops offer here is more than disappointing. While a cool A5-fitting bag isn't impossible to find, A4 is. At least for me. So I took the A4 size as a base for the size of the following two things.

Also, sometimes it so happens that one has to carry some things that take up more space than a little purse has to offer. And if they're heavy, a backpack is the best option. Only there's this problem that a person dressed like me will never find a style-matching backpack...

End of introduction ^^;;;

Now then. Item #1, The Slightly Coffin-shaped Transformable in 3-steps Backpack That May Look Like a Supercool Corset (wtf? XD).

Mwah. I love it so much. Now let me ramble on about the construction. You may skip the next two paragraphs XD

Before making it, I had been thinking about it a lot and imagining the most detailed details. So basically when I finally decided to work on it, it was sort of automatic because I already had a thorough plan in my head.

When we look at it from its profile's imaginary intersection, there will be an L shaped base. Made from old calendar papers. I kid you not ;;;._.;;; Somehow a few old calendars ended up in my possession because of their wonderfully thick, wood-like paper. The two pieces of this paper are connected by a few metal elements like this L to make a nice 90゜. There are some more metal 'bones' in it too. All of them have the width of an average ruler. There are also 3 D-rings attached to everything. The paper and the metal, after being intricately connected, are covered with wide office tape to make it all waterproof. Then I bought this 5mm thick sheet of sponge and glued it to both sides of the construction. And then I made the fabric part, blah blah ^^;

I'm also happy to say it's a very strong construction. To test it, I bought 4kg of oranges and carried them home in it. And of course nothing happened, aside from the fact that oranges are heavy^^;

It's all trimmed with a string covered with the fabric.

Coils! All the straps are easily detachable.

The inside is very neat, with 3 little pockets (which turned out to be too deep therefore unpractical >_>)

I had already had some experience with a similar shape because I made this and this ultra-cheesy pvc bag for my sister's Gothic Lolita dress-up last year ^^;

Hahah.

And now let's see how it looks like when worn. It can be worn in three different ways. First, the basic one:

Now let's detach the back strap thingy and attach the handle one. It's like a bag now.

The choker, despite its similarity in style, is completely separate though XD

Admittedly I find it quite bulky and weird looking in this mode so it's not my favorite.

And now let's attach everything~!

The strap that was used previously can be worn as a sort of an additional support. It's definitely not necessary but I think it looks cool. This way of wearing it was absolutely not in my mind when I was deciding about the length of the strap. I discovered this use quite recently ^^;

Ok, the second item is even more cool, I think: A Black on Black Logo Box-bag

Black velvet contrasted with simple black fabric gives an interesting effect which is this bag's theme <3

It's also made from the calendar papers but connected with 3D metal shapers. It's 100% waterproof from the inside and outside (except for the lid part, of course) and also covered with sponge. So even though it doesn't look like it, it's soft and squishy in touch ^^

The edges are trimmed with velvet ribbon covering a string. Also, I wanted to put some outer metal pieces on the corners to prevent them from being torn. You know, some suitcases have them. Of course I couldn't find any in the shops so I'm considering making them from... silver XP

It's my logo! It got it professionally cut out from a velvet foil which I then ironed onto the fabric.
And yes it does say 'Elegant Gothic Fashion'. It makes me laugh so much XD

2-sided velvet ribbon (had to glue two 1-sided ones together o_x;)

The inside is from velvet and has one little pocket. The lid is connected to the rest by those little pieces that make a cupboard or a chest open/close. The ones I used are for furniture x_X

This is how an A4 sheet can be transported in it. It's not bent.

Haha this is actually a kids tshirt. It says '152' on the tag which would explain why it's so short. But I <3 it nonetheless.

This is my absolute favorite bag, even though its shape isn't very practical, which I could experience by taking it with me on the MUCC trip ._.

The last one is quite small but I like it a lot: Black Rose-patterned Box-bag With Lace

Made from a less thick paper and instead of metal, it's connected with glue. Lots and lots of it. The thing attached to the magnet is a brooch (not self-made XD) but it can be detached and replaced with something else. I had a cameo in mind but haven't made one that would fit here yet...

Those eyelets are just decorational~

There is a pocket with a zipper inside.

I forgot to take a picture of myself with it ^^; I'll just say its strap is very long.

That's all for now but there are some more bags I'm working on >3

Also, 2 additional things:

1) As you may have noticed, there is a wallpaper in the background of the majority of the pictures. 2 kinds of it, divided by a thin stripe. It's the new wallpaper in my living room XD! Funny thing is, it's pink. A very pale/grey shade of it (especially on the photos), but pink nonetheless <3 Now when somebody goes up to me calling me a goth, I should just show them the wallpaper XP

No, but seriously, I love it. So so much. And it's pink because the other colors of this pattern were too bright. It's a German wallpaper and I had to wait over a month for it to be delivered, btw >_>

My eye color for August/September is sapphire bl00~! Even though it's not much of a change from my original color, I like it because it looks sharp ^^

The best floor ever has just been put in my working room (my living room has something completely different, btw). So when everything was ready, I immediately dressed up for this photosession of silliness.

This is me, exaggerating. A LOT.

Try to remember this angle well because in reality there's almost no chance of you ever looking at me like this, ha~hahahhh *dork*

I don't have enough time to try photoshopping out the sun rays. Blame my sister, aka the-worst-photographer-on-earth, for not paying attention to it.

Gomen for my Internet absence lately. But oh boy, do I have an excuse! I'll elaborate on it later though, because I have no time now^^;

So, *cough* today is a special day, and instead of doing something similar to my last year's prank, I decided to do something that has never ever appeared on my journal yet. A meme O_O!
